The TOMRA Sorting Solutions waste removal plant is integrated into a fully mechanized mining process.

Sorting large size rocks of +50/-200 mm the plant is positioned directly after primary crushing with the effect of significant cost reduction because of the limitation of further treatment to upgrated material only.

The sorting algorithms used are based on a combination of color and brightness to separate all platinum-bearing material from waste rock with a throughput of approximately 210t/h.
